A little frustrated as I drove over 30 min to try cafe donuts for the first time as it’s been recommended to me and when I got there, all doors were locked while open signs were still lit up. It was 11am on a Sunday. No sign saying they were closed, no notice on their website or anything. I tried to call and there was no answer and the voicemail box was full. A notice somewhere would be nice if they aren’t going to be open during their posted open hours.
The donuts are greasy and subpar. What's worse is the cleanliness. When you walk in the odor of chemicals is strong, however every single surface is dirty. The walls have splatters, floor is caked with dirt especially on edges, counters are sticky, the garbage can in the bathroom had a thick film of grease on the outside. Tossed donuts after a few bites because if that's how dirty seating is, I can't imagine kitchen is clean.
We stopped in for dessert and we’re surprised at the extensive menu that they had. Donuts, coffee, ice cream and sandwiches too. Donuts looked great however didn’t try them. Ice cream was good. There was a sign that said they had 24 flavors, but only saw 7. Strawberry cheesecake was tasty. Pricing was good too. Only issue is they are a hidden gem. Hard to find if you don’t know they are there.
