Café Du Wake - Réserver une table

I've had this cafe in my bookmarks for a while, because I'll definitely go anywhere that sells beignets! I tried them this morning with just powdered sugar, and yum! So good! You can also get it with a caramel bourbon dipping sauce for only $1 extra. Since I went there for breakfast, I ordered a custom breakfast sandwich with a brioche bun, no meat, smoked Gouda, and Mississippi comeback sauce. This sauce kind of tasted like a spicy Mayo, and it was a great addition to the breakfast sandwich. And just a tip for those who've never been here, the location is kind of tricky to spot. First and last time here. We came here specifically for the beignets and what a disappointment. We waited a long time to get them but once we received them they were tiny and hard. We had 2 orders. After asking about how they looked different from the pictures and traditional beignets a person who we thought was a manger explained this is what we have now and that 's it She was extremely rude and condescending... she later offered me a refund which i accepted. So I've been here before but although the service was never as good, the food compensated for it. Tonight, however was terrible. Ordered 4 orders of beignets thru Yelp, and got there, they didn't even know I had an order. I don't know if their printer was out of paper or they were just playing around and didn't check. Either way, got the beignets and they were burnt. They also spent 2 mins trying to figure out if the caramel sauce was free or they charge. Terrible service, terrible beignets.

We place the order for pick up and asked them to warm the food up. Waited for 30 minutes and we got the food cold! We had to wait another 10 minutes to warm it up. This is my first and last time at this place.

The biegnets are amazing deliciously light and airy. The service is slow and they only have dairy milk I'm lactose intolerant and wanted a latte and what cafe doesn't offer half a dozen non dairy options?!
