The Café-Restaurant Chrottebach is located in Thalwil with views overlooking the Thalwil train station. Chrottebach is a nice, neighborhood style café with sidewalk seating and inside tables and chairs and tall seats at the full-service bar. The hostess during my visit was extremely friendly. I ordered a hot tea (4.90CHF) and Gipfli (1.60CHF). I liked the stackable tea set which was also served with a small piece of chocolate. They also offer breakfast items, fruits, gelato, hot/cold beverages, and a full-service kitchen with weekly lunch specials.A few power outlets are around the walls in case you need to use/charge your electronic devices and they have fast and secure Wi-Fi. For our morning stroll we like to walk up the hill behind our daughter's apartment to COOP to shop for small quantities of food items. On the way home we always stop in for a cappuccino and coffee. The restaurant provides (gratis) croissants and chocolate along with the morning Java. The inside seating is very comfortable overlooking the Thalwil train station. The bathrooms are spotless something we always look for when traveling. I'm 70 years old, have traveled all over Asia in the 1960s and learned how important good sanitary conditions are to travelers. By the way each day this restaurant prepares a different luncheon menu which from what I translated from German appears to be exquisite....

Pleasant place to spend some coffee/chocolate/ice-cream time in Thalwil. View is very nice if you get one of the tables in the back on a sunny day. The menu is not that extensive or notably good, still adequate.

This was our first trip to Chrottebach and the food was great. The kids had pizza that was good and the grilled chicken lunch with salad and fruit was amazing. Réservez une table maintenant
