I think that society is often too quick to judge or would prefer to leave a negative review than a positive, which quite frankly annoys me. “Credit due where credit is due” is definitely the case here. This evening my wife and I went to Cappellos Restaurante for our wedding anniversary. We hadn’t heard anything about Cappellos, we had only ever seen it from the outside. Both being definitely foodies. We were keen to eat in, what seemed to have been a very established Italian restaurant, located in Torquay for many years. As always, everything was excellent. I called in for a Sunday dinner, and the food was amazing as usual. Before placing our order, I had a nice chat with the owner, Ian. The lady who served us was very pleasant. They offer the best roast in town, and the desserts are also fantastic. We enjoyed a bottle of French wine with our lunch. Thank you, Ian and the team, for another wonderful meal. I’ll be back soon!
I’ve passed by this restaurant many times but never had a local recommend it, so I never thought to check it out. I finally did, and I’m glad I did! Their arancini is much better than what you’ll find at The Ivy in Exeter. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a trattoria, and it’s much larger inside than it appears from the street.
