The restaurant was bustling, which is typical for a Friday night. However, the wait was absolutely worth it. We were recommended this place by Capt. Matt from Go Topless Fishing Charters after a day of catching Blacktip North Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks. When we arrived with our catch, Chef Milton handled everything from there. We had no idea what to expect, but Chef Milton prepared five different dishes, some fried and some pan-seared. Each plate was uniquely seasoned, beautifully textured, and creatively presented. The place was packed and the staff was unable to handle. Wait staff was walking around with food trying to find who it belong to. We had three waiters asked if the meals they had in hand was ours. We witnessed this frequently. I order top shelf margaritas which were to be made with Patron and Grand Marnier. They tried to use a cheaper brand other than the Grand Marnier. The tables were too close as such wait staff was continuously bumping against patrons sitting at the tables. Our food was average at best. Their beer selection is quite minimum for a restaurant of this size.
I feel like I got ripped off. The reviews brought me and my hubby here ....was looking for a nice spot to enjoy anniversary, coming from Louisiana..well I was disappointed. $35 loaded boat so I expected it to be filled with yummy goodness but it was a little scoop of rice with overcooked Mahi Mahi and 3 shrimps on top. SMH. If It wasn't a to go order we were really tired and ready to relax) I would've sent it back to the kitchen. I'm so disappointed. Waste of money
Christopher Z. was our server and he was awesome! He recommended a very good cocktail called the princess peach. I enjoyed that and my husband said his tea was great. I got boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes and a very tasty crab salad. My husband got one of the specials that Christopher told him about and he loved it. A ribeye burger with a stuffed potato. I had a delightful experience at Captain Al's while looking for a seafood dinner near Gulfport. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly, all in a fantastic atmosphere. We started with deep-fried onions, which made for a tasty appetizer. For my main course, I tried their Tuesday special, Royal Reds, and it was absolutely satisfying. I definitely recommend stopping by! They also have some great merchandise available.
We were thrilled to visit this restaurant during our vacation! My kids adored the atmosphere, decor, and music. Our server, Patrick, was very busy but incredibly efficient and accommodating when we had to leave early unexpectedly. The souvenirs added a wonderful touch to our evening. The food was outstanding! This restaurant exceeded my expectations! Our waitress, Lindsey, was outstanding and provided excellent service from beginning to end. She is truly a treasure. Her suggestions for appetizers and entrées were spot on! The drinks were so satisfying that we ended up ordering more, haha. We had a fantastic time overall.
