Sad to say, I once called this place My Kitchen I live a stones throw away and have had an busy accommodation business for over yrs no time to cook. I keep trying from time to time hoping it's got back to the old...good standard it once was. Steak was tough. There have been some great chefs there over the years recall when the tunnel under Flinders Street was being built you couldn't get a seat on Roast Night. Then there was the Greek chef with his lovely Asian wife put in some great meals. The publicans dropped in and shook hands with their customers, seems sporting events are the main interest now : wishing and living in hope it will One day return to My Kitchen when I again will love eati...

it was the night of mardi gras and arranged a group of friends to meet at the captain cook. we were greeted by the exhortation (regulation that we could not enter the farm. Oh, God, we have to pass another door. security the charming barmaid could not find the wine card. that's okay, I said just flap her list of French champagne. oh, we have no, only prosseco (it was over the species a single bottle of mumms was for us would have ordered more if they were available. at a waitress a waitress came by and informed us that we could not drink glass, only made of plastic. too many rules, too much safety and not enough champagne. no wonder people don't get out so much.

I booked about three weeks ago a room for a small function. I didn't need a room in the bar so we could make some talk. When I arrived, I was told that the people in the room they booked are still there, we don't want to. to leave them as they spend too much money, I can say that I have never experienced such a devastating attitude to customer service. Avoid the captain cook to cost all!

before the AFL game broke in to have a meal and a drink, was a super busy night with the AFL game on, happy to hunt a table. They thought they had a limited menu for the night running to fulfill the volume. had the carving and it was fast out and a great meal.

eating is mixed. the personal is rude. go not to this place. there is a simpler way to waste money
