Went in here on a Friday night waited about 5 minutes to get seated. Was pleasantly surprised. Got the chicken parm, salmon on a bed of Alfredo pasta and the calamari. Chicken parm: Huge portion. Perfect for two. Good amount of cheese, lots of sauce and a good amount of pasta on the side. I like my cutlet a little more crispier, but with the sauce that’s tough. Overall a good parm. Salmon with the Alfredo pasta: Presentation was incredible, Alfredo pasta was rlly rlly good. In my book, flavor was a 9/10. I grew up in a historically Italian neighborhood, and my grandfather was a north end resident for 92 years, I can say this is some of the best Italian food you can find, and I would put it against any North End Italian Restaurant. Carlo's is extremely small and intimate, which is nice for a good date spot. Their bread and oil taste so fresh, everything tastes like it is made with love. The portions are extremely generous that you will get multiple meals out of dinner. The prices are extremely reasonable considering the amount of food you get. I keep recommending Carlo's as one of the best Italian (my opinion the best) restaurant in Boston and folks end up loving it.
Small and loud place just like in Bella Italia. As a European always hard to find authentic tasting European cuisines in the US. This place did not disappoint. Felt more like a neighborhood place than the more touristy ones in the North End. The food was very well prepared with fresh ingredients. Both the Minestrone and the Seafood Linguine were great. Service overall was very attentive albeit a bit slow on the water refills which isn’t a big deal. Overall definitely will be back once in Boston the next time.
I absolutely love this place!! The appetizers and entrees are always generous on portions. The prices are great and the flavors are wonderful!! This is one of my favorite places to go when we are in Boston. This time service was meh and the bread was stale (sat outside of the warmer to long maybe) but it’s all over looked because the food it that good!

It's a cozy little place, but we loved every bite of all the dishes we ordered. Bruschetta was simple but filled with olive oil. Gnocchi spezzatino was so creamy and melting in the mouth. Seafood Fra Diavolo had an abundance of calamari, museles, shrimp, and clams, and it tested like heaven. Everything was creamy, delicious, and unforgettable!
Very very good food I ordered a pasta and it was real good !! The 4 stars are just because they could rearrange the place to make it look nicer ! The prices are really good as well but if it’s your first time and you come in you can get the feeling it won’t be good ! But it actually is real good hope they can make it more appealing
My favorite Italian restaurant in the Boston area, and it's not even in the North End! You will find very comforting dishes with generous portions, though it is hard to not finish them, they taste that good. Service is great too.
The best Italian in Allston! Service is fantastic the guys here are so nice. Delicious pasta and the best, creamiest pesto. Portions are gigantic. Wine pours are generous.

If I could give this 100 stars, I would. Food was delicious, service was top notch, and the pricing was so affordable. We left fat and happy !
Carlo’s was great. Cramped and crowded, but excellent food and service! Worth the wait and the noise!
