This was my first time at Carlucci 's in Rosemont. I have had many efficient and pleasant waitstaff experiences, but Grumpy (and yes, that is the moniker he goes by) was a totally different experience. He was NOT Grumpy, just acerbic. When I asked him about the parmesan linguine wheel, he explained it and suggested we order it as an appetizer to share. It was delicious and he was right! He suggested a perfect bottle of wine. When we asked him to recommend a salad, again he was spot on. I was concerned about the dressing, suggesting that having it on the side might be a better choice for me. He told me it was light and delicious and he was right again. the ambience and food quality was except...
we were in Rosemont for a convention and decided to make a lunch trip to Carlucci’s and man are we happy that we did. The service and the food was stellar, but a special mention has to be made about our server “Grumpy”. I don’t think we’ve ever had better service from someone that we did not know. It was immediately like he was familiar with our table and he was sarcastic and sweet. Very friendly but also very professional… it really takes a special person to have such a nice experience in a place where you’ve never been. Thank you so much Grumpy Bill for your amazing hospitality, and for making our lunch so special. Carlucci’s is lucky to have you which I’m sure they know!
Lunch with friends on 1/18/24 Entered and was met with a warm greeting. Started our dining experience with Wine, Mussels and Sausage Polenta Appz. My linguini parma was prepared at table with precision by our waiter Mr William Stimpel. Better known to all by “Grumpy”. Don't let the name fool you. We laughed often. Friends enjoyed their entrees too, and we all indulged in the creamy Tiramisu for dessert. All in all, food and table service y all was excellent. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, including our Valet service. Wish I knew our gentleman's name. We will return.
My daughter and I went to Carlucci 's for a late lunch following a flight in from the Pacific Northwest and it was an excellent experience. The staff was wonderful (special shout out to Bill, aka Grumpy who was anything but), did not rush us as we took our time enjoying the food, drinks, and the staff. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very festive. We are moving to the area in the next couple of months and we will be back. Thanks for a great experience, Bill and crew!

Enjoyed a lovely dinner while staying in the area. Pricing is on the high end for pasta but portions were sizable. Didn’t feel packed in for a chicago restaurant which was very pleasant. They have a large banquet room, ample bar area with tables and main dining room. Excellent bread too!
Super solid Italian fare always fresh, hot, and delicious! Was served on by a gentleman, William Stimpel, AKA “Grumpy”. While the nickname definitely fit, he was funny, charming, and provided excellent service. Will definitely stop by again!
Bill aka grumpy was awesome. Amazing food and even better service. Well done. One of the best servers we have had in a long time. He was there to provide help and knew when to disappear.
Our waiter was fun and attentive. Our waiter “Grumpy” as he calls himself was knowledgable about the appetizers size and share-ability. The food and atmosphere were perfect.

Perfect location right at the hotel. During winter you can get to the restaurant from inside the hotel. No need to fight the weather. Good atmosphere, great food.
Grumpy was amazing! Great food great experience. We need more servers like Grumpy !!!!!! Suggested a better choice for lunch and loved it.
