MOST EXPENSIVE FISH AND CHIP SHOP I HAVE EVER VISITED! Cost of living/ Inflation??!! Nope day light robbery! This has got to be one of the most expensive fish and chip shops I’ve ever been in. 4 large fish and 4 large chips was just shy of £60. I don’t pay that in a chippy in London that I frequent regularly. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF! I suggest the people of Bewdley and surrounding areas go elsewhere. I will never return! My partner came back to the car and said you won’t guess how much that was! And she was right…my guess was well under! They weren’t even that tasty. Below average at best. Clearly the owner who pulled up in the car park thinks he has the pricing just right though as he rolls around...
Great fish, chips, roe and peas and a huge portion of complete rudeness from staff. Entered shop with just one other customer in there. Completely ignored for some time, no eye contact, no nod of acknowledgment, but the staff had time to chat to each other and also smile and greet the delivery guy. This was this evening Friday, staff absolutely need customer training. This Fish and Chip shop is good but so is Merchants in Bewdley and Pats in Stourport-on-Severn. Needless to say won’t be returning to spend £17 again. We didn’t think it was possible to carry out a transaction without any communication. May be minimum wage but so is McDonald’s, if staff hate working there I suggest you work som...
I have dined at this restaurant before and know that the food quality is good. However, I find the price of £39.90 for three fish and chips to be excessive. Due to this, I will not be purchasing from here again. I understand the impact of inflation and the rising cost of living, as well as how weather conditions can affect the potato crop. I can get a similar meal for half the price at my local spot, so making a special trip here for a family treat is no longer worth it.
If you are coeliac don’t waste your time going here. I went this week for gluten free fish and chips and was asked how allergic I was. They provide gluten free batter but unlike most chip shops they fry everything in the same batter. This means it is not gluten free at all!! I was so disappointed because they have such a good reputation for quality. A waste of my time. Réservez une table maintenant
I ordered food, paid for it, but received the wrong change. When I brought it up, I was told I was mistaken. After being called a liar, I finally received the correct change. I had the receipt to prove the amount I had on me. This experience was embarrassing and I will not be returning to that restaurant again. It was disappointing for all the customers in the shop.
We went twice during our week's stay enough said. The food was good (especially fish) but not exceptional. Location is problematic, being on a busy road and opposite a busy side road. There's a small car park but can be very busy, and difficult to get in and out of due to the narrow access and busy road. Would still go back if we were in the area again.
Everything cooked fresh to order but that's fine because these were simply the best I've had in years. My friend and I sat out in the sunshine on top of Trimley ridge at the viewing bench and devoured them. Will.be visiting again soon and suggest you do.the same if your in the area.
