Oh what a difference a few weeks makes !! Recently visited The Old Beams and unfortunately what a change. Paper flimsily menus, food lacked taste, no specials and all the best items on the old menu have been removed. Previous diners had left chips in the floor under the table which had not been cleaned or removed prior to us sitting down. Service was good however, a little too good. Felt rushed between courses , working to kitchen clock not the diners. Will leave for a few months now and may try again in the summer hoping things improve!!!
Everything was as delicious as usual. The only issue was that it was very cold outside and not much warmer inside. I recommend adding some insulation or thick curtains. It's a pity because it took away from the dining experience. I understand that it is an old building and may be historically protected, but I'm sure there is a solution that can be found.
I had a reservation for March 17th, but the restaurant called on Tuesday the 13th to inform me that it was closed because the management had left. I had to find another place to dine.
Worst colly cheese ever, slow service but everything else was good. A bit of tlc on the colly and a couple more staff, we’d be a five!

Modern and traditional decor, friendly staff and delicious Carvery on Sunday. Very busy, so the booking would recommend.

The dinner was pleasant and flavorful. The service was kind and welcoming.
