Causeway Gourmet Take-out Spec

We visited the Causeway Grill last night for the first time in a couple of years. As usual, the food was excellent, but our waitress was disappointing. When we first walked in, she greeted us with, "Can I help you?" which struck me as strange since, obviously, we were there for dinner—it's a restaurant after all. When our food arrived, she set it down and quickly walked away, leaving us unable to ask for another drink. She never returned to check on us, so we ended up without any additional beverages. Once we got our food, she left so quickly that we couldn’t even ask for another beer. She didn’t return, so we didn’t have any additional drinks. When she mentioned she would bring ours, we ended up waiting for a while, and then just decided to pay and leave without it. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so there was no reason for her to be absent. Next time, I think I’ll just call in and pick up because the food is truly good. By the way, later on we went out for drinks and told some locals where we dined, and they asked if the service was poor. It seems this is a common complaint. Overall, great food but disappointing service.
