Not Cedar Creek Inn anymore, as if July 1 it is Tavern at the Mission. Chief Wilhelm is moving forward with the transition. We arrived early, 5 pm as we had a play to attend across the street at the Mission. Although the menu looked wonderful we didn't make it past the Happy Hour menu/selections (Monday 3pm until closing, Tuesday Fri 4 to 6 pm, I think). Discounts on some great wines, beer drinks, and a super selection of appetizers, and a few Slider Selections . We tried the Charred Brussel Sprouts, Coconut Crusted Shrimp, Shrimp Dijon, French Onion Soup, Clam Chowder, and Home made Potatoe Chips with Blue Cheese. For desert, the famous Coconut Cake with Ice Cream (same as Cedar Creek Inn)...
We started with the sesame calamari paired with jalapeño tartar sauce. I tend to order calamari whenever I can, and Cedar Creek's version is unlike any I've ever had. It was lightly breaded, tender, and garnished with cheese and black sesame seeds. The jalapeño tartar sauce was fantastic!
My friend opted for the chicken papaya salad, while I went for the Cedar Creek burger. At the next table, a couple was indulging in the crab legs special with vegetables, and they kindly let me take a picture of their meal.
To top off the experience, there was live music that really enhanced the ambiance. Overall, it was a delicious dining experience.
So disappointed since new owners took over. I always loved their curried chicken salad. It did not taste the same and the amount of food was a lot less and a lot more expensive. Their delicious walnut bread is not being served anymore either. The person that got the ahi sandwich had to take it apart since the size of the bread was overwhelming and couldn't be eaten as a sandwich. The other person was underwhelmed with their salad. Delicious! I absolutely love this restaurant. It offers a diverse selection of dishes, and I’m consistently impressed by the taste and quality. The service is excellent, with a friendly staff that goes above and beyond to assist customers. The location is stunning, right in the heart of the old town of SJC, and provides beautiful views of the mission. I'm a big fan of this place!

I had a lovely lunch at the restaurant. The papaya chicken salad was outstanding, loaded with plenty of fruit and served with banana bread. The albacore tuna melt was also quite tasty, and it came with chips and a small serving of fruit. The location is great, and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely dine here again!
This place is no longer Cedar Creek. The menu has changed and I was really disappointed by everything. They used to have an amazing jalapeño pasta, but it's no longer available. After having a drink, I decided to leave and I won't be returning. Food: 1, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 3.
Overall, the food was excellent. The pâté was exceptional, and I really enjoyed the lobster shrimp club sandwich, though I found the toasted thick sourdough made it a bit too bready. My wife liked the curried chicken salad, and we both always appreciate the coconut cake.

Nothing like it used to be ahi sandwich horrible, cutting costs. Cobb salad couldn’t even see the chicken in it!! Just skimping. Rebranding??? To what? Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
