I found the central social hall very exciting the first time I got there, the ambiance is incredible, the Decour is amazing. You feel like you are in a totally different world then freezing Alberta. The drinks are OK as long as you like beer or Basic highballs. The specialty drinks leave a little bit to be desired. I was not able to find one that I fell in love with. Then comes the food, their appetizers are pretty cool, I love the pretzel however I don't like the beer/cheese dip that comes with it. I asked for a regular cheese dip and they did not have one. Everyone in our group tried something different and said that the food was OK, nothing to write home about. So this place is a great ha...
A quick place for lunch. Love the factoids and the easy menu. Good steak sandwich which was the special today. One suggestion, bring a flashlight to use the bathroom. Seriously, either turn up the light, change the lights to brighter LED's or go outside, one CAN NOT see what one is doing in the men's washroom. No seriously, if going to the bathroom by candlelight is your thing, this is the place to do your business; but if you are over 30 and you just came from outside which is bright, the bathroom is a use at your own risk situation. Was it the sink, the urinal or the toilet, not sure, but I think it was the right place.
Returned to try this restaurant again and found it to still be a place to grab a quick and tasty lunch. Tried the patio this time as the weather was quite nice. The food was good, and the service quite prompt. My feeling still was that this is a place that leans to the "trendy" side, and I could see it being more attractive to a younger crowd particularly later in the day. As another reviewer mentioned, it probably takes on more of a pub atmosphere at night. But unless you're opposed to that I'd still suggest giving this restaurant a try. Prices were average I thought.
Every time we go to Central Social Hall in St. Albert, we have great service, food and overall experience. We love that they now have brunch on the weekend that is family friendly and can bring our daughter. She is 10 months old and the staff are always so great to her and notice the little things. I love coming here with girlfriends for a night out and we love Wine Wednesday's. We are happy that they have come to St. Albert and have given this city exactly what we needed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night out, great food or a weekend brunch. Réservez une table maintenant
The first few times I dined here, the food was fresh, hot and the menu was interesting. I've met people here twice very recently and found the food, even the hamburgers to be a little flat. Not sure what it is, perhaps the hamburger was just warm and the bun a but old, but even a stir-fry just wasn't in top form. Not terrible-send-it back condition, just a little off. There is so much competition in town, the kitchen needs to be sharper.
We recently dined at this restaurant for the first time. To say the least we were very disappointed. Service was slow. Food seemed to have taken forever and it really was not that busy. When food finally arrived it was really lacking flavor, very greasy, and overcooked. We found it a little pricey for what we had. Would not return to this place. Much better bang for your buck out here in St.Albert.
This was my first visit to Central Social Hall in St. Albert... I took my mom for Mother's Day brunch and I was NOT disappointed. The food was amazing (best brunch I've ever had), staff was friendly and very welcoming, management was also very friendly and welcoming. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend this place
