The restaurant was quite a disappointment. Saturday evening dinner with poor rushed food. While the first course of St Austell mussels was ok (hard to get wrong with such good ingredients) it lacked any sauce and the bread was dry and obviously had been cut too early. The mains were served as the starter plates were removed and looked like they had been on the pass for 10 minutes. The sea bream was over cooked and the salad potatoes undercooked. Only the tempura scallops were well cooked. The fishcake was burned at the bottom and the fries (advertised as chips) were served with ketchup in a plastic bowl. My companion and I made a reservation for a table for two on a Monday evening. We were warmly greeted and informed that the restaurant had been busier than expected, so we enjoyed a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff was polite, friendly, and attentive despite being busy. We appreciated being kept informed about our wait time. We both ordered pizzas. Mine was the best I've had in a long time, if not the best ever. There was a great selection of drinks as well. It's a shame we didn't have more time in the area to try more dishes from the menu. Fabulous family birthday meal, really couldn't have wished for a nicer evening. Smallish venue but packs an impressive punch with its airy and stylish interior. Staff were helpful, engaging and attentive even though busy. Atmosphere was buzzy and happy without over loud music meaning it was wonderful to chat. Then was the food!!! Great, interesting selection all freshly prepared and simply a joy to eat! It was my mum's birthday so we enjoyed a three course dinner, wine and giggles. As a cornish local Mum says she's heading back to try out brunch and cocktails!! Thank you for such a tremendous evening
We always visit here when we come to Cornwall. It is by far our favourite restaurant in Cornwall!! They offer very good Gluten Free for my partner. This time round we had pizzas (1 normal and one GF), it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had!!! The drinks are also great and the staff are very friendly.

A return visit, this time for our Anniversary we weren’t disappointed. The starters, mains deserts all wonderful! Beautiful flavours and fabulous presentation. The staff were helpful, polite no complaints there at all. We were so pleased we’ve reserved to return in a few days whilst here on holiday.
The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and serves delicious food. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Burger with Pineapple as it is a unique and tasty twist on a traditional burger. The staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
We had an absolutely wonderful meal at this restaurant in Charlestown. The food was delicious. The service was relaxed and friendly. I can highly recommend the Boathouse Burger! Fantastic stuff!

This as a very pleasant restaurant, probably at its best in summer when you can sit outside. Very good menu and friendly staff
We enjoyed a lovely lunch here in a relaxed setting. We both had mussels which were delicious. The staff were friendly.
