Chip Stone Pub Eatery

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Carbondale. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a delightful place to dine. The food is outstanding, and you can truly tell that the chef is passionate about his craft. They host a trivia night, which I didn't partake in, but I had a great time enjoying my coffee and dinner while listening to the fun. Eric, who creates all the trivia questions, actively engages with the customers, adding to the enjoyable experience. I highly recommend trying the Guinness stew—it's simply incredible! I left feeling full and smiling. This is definitely a family-friendly spot. I wholeheartedly recommend The Chip Stone!

My wife and I visited this restaurant during a recent trip to Carbondale. We both ordered the shepherd's pie, and it was excellent. We also tried several draft beers before choosing our favorite IPA. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The highlight of our meal was definitely the dessert— we had the homemade coconut cream pie, which was absolutely amazing. As a big fan of pies, I can confidently say it's the best pie I've ever tasted. I highly recommend stopping by for a casual dinner and an incredible dessert.

Vibrant, cozy pub with shockingly good shepherd’s pie. My wife and I came early evening before a ski day for a few pints of smithwick’s and guinness, and ended up staying through a trivia night! The staff were incredibly welcoming at the end of trivia both owners offered drive us half a mile down the road to Hotel Anthracite just to avoid a frigid walk and we loved the energy from all the regulars enjoying their Friday night. A+ for food, friendliness, and good vibes.

The service was excellent. Although the sampler size was small and overpriced, it was still quite enjoyable. The owner mentioned that they have made changes to address this. We are looking forward to our next visit. Réservez une table maintenant

My wife's bun was overcooked, but they removed it from our bill and apologized. Despite that, I still think it's a great place with a nice atmosphere, so I gave it 4 stars!

The pub serves excellent food, and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend it! Be sure to try the Irish specialties; the shepherd's pie is absolutely fantastic.
