I took my boyfriend, who was visiting Virginia for the first time, to one of my favorite Korean fried chicken places, Choong Man Chicken. He was not disappointed. Here's what we ordered:
Snow Onion Wings: These chicken wings were crispy and flavorful, coated in a delicious snow onion cream sauce. The wings were coated in their original fried chicken coating, giving them the perfect amount of crunch. The snow onion sauce was thick, creamy, and light, with plenty of sliced raw onions. Although the outer layer of the wings did get soggy quickly, they were still delicious.

My first time here, my first time at Choong Man. a small order of takeout drumsticks with garlic soy sauce. Very awesome!! I was in the neighborhood and I've been eating BonChon garlic soy chicken. I think I'm just in love with Korean fried chicken. The sauce here was a tiny bit spicier I felt my tongue tingle a tiny bit. The skin is crispy and the sauce is quite delicious. the BonChon Chicken might be a tiny bit crispier. But this is amazing fried chicken and definitely worth going out and getting yourself some. Choongman is my favorite chicken restaurant in the DMV area. The Annandale location lived up to my expectations. It has a similar setup to their other locations, with a cozy café vibe. I think the DC location might be the only one with a full-size bar that enhances the dine-in experience. Regardless, the food was delicious as usual. We tried the original wings and the spicy ones, both of which were fantastic. The fries were also tasty. Even though there was only one person working at the counter, we never felt ignored.
Came here for their famous black bean noodle jajangmyeon. My friends and I got the large serving, jjam bbong with jajangmyeon and chicken tangsuyuk. The tangsuyuk was delicious. The wings were tender and seasoned really well. We ate everything and its plenty of food for 3 people. The jajangmyeon and seafood soup lacked some flavor. My friends and I thought the food was kind of bland. We liked the portion size and how you can do half and half combos. Fun place to enjoy some authentic Korean Chinese fusion dishes.

We ordered takeout for a family dinner on a snowy evening. When we got home, I discovered that there were no radishes included with the chicken, which was disappointing. It is unacceptable for a Korean chicken restaurant to not provide radishes. This oversight ruined our family dinner, as everyone was complaining about the missing radishes. To make matters worse, I had even tipped them.
Snow onions (main reason for going to ChoongMan) here are horrible- so watery and bland, we had to return it. Rather than apologizing, the girl supervisor says it 's our new recipe. New recipe??? It looks like someone added a bottle of water to it. If it 's the new recipe, well sorry, not going there anymore.
We went for lunch and ordered 2 kinds of chicken. One was original plain, the other one was with curry sauce. I have to say both of them were so delicious!! Crispy, juicy and have deep flavor with the spice they use. And, the radish pickles was great too. Definitely will go back.
Great Korean chicken store. Decent interior layout (albeit perhaps a bit smal). Very diverse menu and amazing chicken (rich flavor and crispy coating with a juicy inside). The service was on point as well.

Love the snow onion chicken. Great BOGO free offer on whole chickens to go. Very tasty pickled radish available in restaurant and to go. Service is great too.
Phenomenal chicken and even better staff! Seriously do yourself a favor and try this place.
