I called and made reservations for 5:15pm , we arrived about 20 minutes early but thank god we did as we couldn't find the place. We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was warm with patio lights and a fireplace, the food was delicious with generous portions, and the prices were reasonable. The service was courteous and professional. After a day of exploring the mission, we were tired and hungry, and the nearby eatery looked welcoming so we decided to give it a try. I was looking for a restaurant halfway between Orange County and Oceanside, and that's when I found Ciao Pasta in San Juan Capistrano. This charming restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine that promises a delightful dining experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a wonderful evening. The menu featured a great selection of local California wines, and our starter of prosciutto with mozzarella was delicious. The lemon pasta, with its perfectly cooked al dente noodles and light, zesty sauce, provided a refreshing twist on a classic dish.
Ordered the chicken piccatta and was very pleased with it. Their bread comes with olive spread which was delicious! Great tagliatelle and their salad looks great. Beautiful space to eat, San Juan Capistrano is an easy delight. Perfect weather in the dead of California weather. I guess my star count doesn't go to 4 because the waitress/server/hostess (not sure what her job was) was noticeably unwelcoming. I didn't really mind, but my mama in law noticed, and that says alot. Service is everything!

I really adore this Italian restaurant! The food is fantastic and the service is fabulous. If you're planning a trip to San Juan Capistrano, I highly suggest stopping by Ciao Pasta. It's conveniently located across from the Mission in downtown.

Great pasta! Quickly and nicely fixed a mistake made on an order but I would order from them constantly regardless ive never had any issues with them and their food is always perfect even when ordering it out.
Overpriced and flavorless.. I got 4 small slices of tomato and cheese as the caperse for $17.00 and the pasta had no flavor and barealy any meat sauce on it...

I received sausage and not meatballs they were fine Ive ordered the tiramisu before it was very good this was a very small piece of salmon was great
As always, the meatballs are out of this world and the sauce is amazingly fresh.
