On Saturday night after 9 pm the wife decides she wants a tasty treat (Chocolate Malt) from DQ. Since the Pelham location was already closed this left the Alabaster location as the closest one that is open late until 11 pm. When we arrived the drive thru was wrapped around the building and the lobby was crowded. We decided to split up and see who would be able to order the shake first. I stayed in the drive thru and my wife went inside to order. It was no contest as she won easily. It is probably better to be go inside and order rather than sitting in a long line wasting gas which is rather expensive right now.
I don't typically write reviews or voice complaints about service, but after several recent visits, I've noticed a decline in service, food quality, and wait times. I usually use the drive-thru, and unfortunately, I've received crumpled napkins either handed to me or tossed in my bag, found a white hair in my chicken fingers, and experienced longer wait times than usual. I'm sorry to bring this up, but I feel it's important to share my concerns in hopes that you can improve and retain your customers. Keep up the hard work!
I would not usually review any place or even complain about service. However, after a few recent visits, I feel as if the service, quality of food, and wait time has indeed degraded. I usually take the drive thru route, which I have had waddednapkins handed to me or put in my bag, a white hair in my chicken fingers, and the wait time has been unusually slow. So sorrythat it has gotten to a point where I feel the need to say something but I don't want yall to lose customers. Keep working hardand improving!
The food is only mediocre. It feels more like a dessert place that also offers food. The burgers are dry and lacking in flavor, but the fries are generally decent. While the desserts are reliably tasty, the other menu options leave much to be desired. The chicken tenders have more batter than chicken and are also dry. If you decide to visit, I recommend sticking to the ice creams and blizzards and be prepared for crumbs and sticky tables, as cleanliness doesn’t seem to be a priority here. I ordered the large Oreo Dirt Pie for my brother, but instead received a small. While I was disappointed, I chose not to make a fuss since the worker seemed upset. The pie itself was also disappointing—it looked sad, lacking any Oreo crumbs, and was mostly just melted chocolate. I really hope this was just a result of a staff member having a bad day, and that others might have a better experience.
This restaurant has a fantastic location and the service is always quick and friendly. My only complaint is that they can be a bit stingy with the Blizzard toppings. Seriously, for over $4 for a cup of soft serve, I at least expect a couple of *whole* Reese's Peanut Butter Cups mixed in instead of just crumbs from the container.
They get overwhelmed easily. Blizzards are not blended as well as they should be although that is across the chain not just this location. Worst thing here was the young lady chomping bubble gum, including blowing bubbles while handing out food. I appreciated her attitude but the gum was gross.
