We really love Debbie's fresh fish and it is basically the only place we buy it...lets get that out in the open straight up.We recently had some crumbed fish from the restaurant for lunch and unfortunately it was way overcooked, dry and almost inedible. Sorry Debbie but the three of had a piece and each was the same. You could see as soon as we opened it by the very dark colour of the crumbing (close to burnt colour). Hopefully it was just a one-off but I must say it will be a long time before we go back for cooked seafood from Deb's. Keep the fresh stuff coming :)
This is not a restaurant or café. It is a fresh fish shop at 1/24 David Muir Street, Slade Point, also with mobile vans around Mackay. FINALLY we have found an outlet that sells wonderful fresh seafood that you buy and take home and cook for yourself. We have been travelling south from Cairns and this would be one of the two top seafood suppliers. Fresh and yummy.
6 of us had dinner here on Friday night so a variety Of food was ordered and consumed. Nobody had any complaints with the standard of food nor the size of the dishes. Prices are very reasonable and staff were friendly and attentive. They were...also pumping out takeaways. Definitely recommend if in town. Bit out of the way but we had a local to guide us there.
So our local closed down and thought we’d give Debbies a go and WOW how surprised, fresh fish, big chunky chips, friendly and fast service and nice ambience at the cafe and BYO! Will become a frequent visitor. Thank you but a battered sav would...still be a nice accompaniment next time!

about 10 minutes away from mackay we were really excited to get some fresh seafood while on holiday. Unfortunately there was very little fresh (all frozen) even that was not local. While I guess we've been visiting the new year, they must have fresh seafood.

This little gem is tucked away but worth finding. Great food with tasty daily specials. You can also buy fresh seafood to take home.
Not much I can say that all the other 5 star ratings haven't said This was my first time here and wow what a burger.
