centrally located on the marketplace – where hundreds of tourists pass daily – restaurants are not really our favorite places to go. However, after we had already shut down several restaurants on a Sunday evening, which had already closed their kitchen around 19 o'clock (the next they probably wanted to lift up the skies), we went to the ratskeller. the map offered a series of well-known German and also selected regional dishes. It was my second time at this restaurant and this time i decided i have to write a review. I am a head chef myself so not an easy customer at all. In fact if i don't regret going out it's already something and in this case i enjoyed every single minute in Ratskeller. The menu is on the smaller side, but the chefs know: the smaller, the better. Wines are typical for this region and are also of a good quality. Service is nice and attentive. We had fish (salmon with mustard sauce) and pork. Everything was top notch, moist and yummy. Vegetables were al dente and not overcooked. All in all excellent value for the money in a very touristy place, which is quite unexpected. Definitely recommend and...

we habben in dit restaurant real lekker gegeten. mijn had paddestoelen met mais kip. deze was erg lekker, zij het dat de kip iets gaarder had geogen. mijn eendenborst met rieslingrisotto en vruchtensaus was erg smakelijk. een heerlijke combinatie van smaken. ook de groeten were real lekkers. het enige minpunt is de bediening. the correct maar erg onpersoonlijk en ongeïnteresseerd. he were nog snare plaques bezet, maar men was toch vooral bezig met het bijvullen van de voorraden, het vouwen van servetten e.d en had weinig aanvor voor de gasten.

Simply a very good restaurant. The food here was very good quality and tasty, with a nice wine selection too. Not the cheapest one, but worth it!We had classic potato soup and escargots for entree, duck with risotto and white asparagus with ham for the main courses - everything good and well prepared. Portions were quite big as well, so we had to skip the desserts this time ;) Réservez une table maintenant

wij dronken slechts cappuccino here (the goed was), maar were vooral gecharmeerd van de locatie van het kleine terras: aan de middeleeuwse market met (as enige) uitzicht op het mooiste gedeelte daarvan. naast het terras gangen nog de handboeien aan de muur, as a vorm van openbare straf. in niet bijzonder.

we were there on 26.03.2017. we were looking for a local dinner. as the courts on the map have addressed us the choice fell on the ratskeller. the dishes were tastefully good. the wee is good. the service is without perfect.

the classic cheeky is really good, which is local schoen, in the rathaus, quite. in the middle of bernkastel. service excellent, a tick more expensive than the neighboring but also forerunners
