My friend and I visited this place for lunch while we were in town, eager to sample their soup dumplings and other dishes. **Food: 10/10** We ordered pork soup dumplings, pork belly buns, shrimp dumplings, and shumai. Let’s start with the soup dumplings: the wrappers were delicately thin (make sure to let them cool for a moment to prevent tearing). The filling was incredibly tender and juicy, complemented by a rich, restorative broth that left me wanting more. We stopped by on a whim around 7 PM on a Friday to grab some dumplings to go. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes for 8 pork and chive dumplings. The restaurant has a sparse, industrial feel, lacking warmth in terms of decor or staff friendliness. Despite this, it was nearly at full capacity, and there was a steady stream of customers picking up to-go orders. Since the food is made-to-order, it’s a good idea to order some hot tea or wine and take the time to chat while you wait. The steamed dumplings were fresh and delicious, especially since we used our own dipping sauces, as none were provided with the order. The staff was welcoming and the service was prompt. I ordered the basil chicken fried rice, which was just average. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of basil in it. I have dined here before and had a much better experience. The spring rolls were enjoyable, and the tea I ordered was served in a generous pot of loose leaf, which was quite tasty. I believe this location used to be Mighty Taco, so it still has a bit of a fast-food vibe, but they take your order at the table like a regular restaurant.
I've passed by this restaurant several times but never had the courage to try it until recently. I have to say, I am completely satisfied and regret not visiting sooner. The pork belly buns are absolutely fantastic! I also ordered the house dumplings, which were incredibly filling and flavorful. My friend got the spicy beef brisket noodle bowl, and she loved it. This place has amazing dumplings, and I really wish it had been around when I was in college! The prices are fair, and the food is tasty. I wasn't a huge fan of the amount of chives in the fried dumplings, but the soup dumplings were fantastic! I definitely plan to return the next time I'm in Rochester!
Flavorful food and good portions. It was our first time at this restaurant and we really enjoyed the food. Tried two types of dumplings, vegetarian was the favorite.Staff was attentive. Only suggestion is to have more drink options other than soda. There’s plenty of parking outside.
