Unfortunately I have to edit my review, the restaurant is just bad, I ordered Piccata Milanese, a plate came with ketchup on it and the schnitzels, in any case they weren't coated with piccata, instead of spaghetti, only pasta with a lot of cheese on top?? My wife's Cordon Bleu Thurgauer style, supposedly with apple pieces, only had apple sauce in it?? We didn't finish it all because my wife's fries were too salty. When she cleared the table, she simply poured the leftovers into the adjacent pond and fed them to the fish. It's unbelievable what's going on there.
We used to be regular guests at the rustic Eichmühle and after many years, the change of host and the sometimes negative comments, we decided to stop by again. The first sight at the parking lot didn't bode well for us. A broken large camping car that blocks half the parking lot, dirt everywhere and a pile of rubble behind the 18th century wash house. We thought, oh, should we eat here, clean up or continue driving
We haven't eaten so badly in years. Everything the cheapest of the cheapest. I haven't seen a no-name ketchup in a 1.5 liter bottle for ages The food was also made very cheaply. I don't even want to know how old the oil/butter was that my breaded schnitzel was fried in! Also brought the wrong food. The location is so beautiful! Too bad about the rest.
The reservation was received on the phone in a friendly manner and the greeting from the kitchen was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was extremely rude rolling eyes, deep sighs because I had the nerve to order another bottle of water... people like that shouldn't be working in service, they ruin the good work of the kitchen.

The “tradition” with a large selection of good cordon bleu is also being continued by the new operators of the Eichmühle. My Zurich Geschnetzeltes was also excellent and the large portion was more than filling. All at fair prices. The cozy garden restaurant right by the stream invites you to linger longer, especially in summer.
Nicely located excursion restaurant and pleasant outdoor ambience right by the stream. The Cesar salad was fresh, cleverly prepared and very tasty. The fish crispies were also good, with a fine sauce and fresh seasonal butter vegetables. Warm food throughout, we ate at 5 p.m. All in all great
Reception, too lukewarm, you have to ask for a drink, service, doesn't have enough knowledge, there's a lot of fine things on the menu, from Swiss cuisine, but the chef doesn't have the training, I went to try it twice, I can't recommend it. Your decision, price performance minus
Unfortunately it's just a shadow of its former self from the 80s. Completely demotivated staff due to the impending closure. Food was very mediocre at best. It would be such a nice restaurant.
