When it came time to pay, the waitress brought over a portable credit card processor. She charged us $2.00 for the chili and an additional $3.50 for each of the tiny portions of red and green chili, totaling an unjustifiable $5.50. The waitress didn't inform us about these extra charges beforehand. On the credit card machine, there were options for tips at 18%, 20%, and 25%. My husband selected the other option and left a smaller amount. When he went to the bathroom, the waitress approached me and asked, "Is that your husband?" I was taken aback and replied that he likes her. She then implied he clearly doesn’t like her very much.

Just found about this place. They have delicious pico de gallo...I had them make it hot and add serrano peppers, absolutely delicious! We also tried the carnitas and the combo platter with 2 tacos and an enchilada. The food was incredible. Our server was really helpful, we had some questions about the area and they were able to give us some directions to places we wanted to go see.
Extensive menu, excellent ingredients, nicely cooked. Good location, close to the Mission and the train station. Very friendly, and informal. Recently refurbished so now more spacious. I've been eating here for years, including take-out. Recently I sent my boss here when he was in town and wanted good Mexican, a subject upon which he's a well respected expert... and he loved it.
The best in town! Always a good experience, good service, friendly staff, delicious food. My family has been here since the 80s. They have seen my brother grow up, and now they watch his children grow up, LOL. Your salsa is amazing. If it came in a glass, it would be hot.

The salsa is good and the food is decent, but the service is terrible! Asking for a water refill feels like a major inconvenience. The food takes twice as long to arrive as it should. Overall, the quality has really declined. I can no longer recommend this place.
The best Mexican food in the southern district. My mother, who makes the best Mexican food I've ever had, said that's her favorite. Everything is so authentic, fresh and hot. Great salsa and chips. The Tamales are the best! Just go!
Love at first bite. The open atmosphere, 1st class service, and delicious dishes make it a home run. After dozens of visits we still keep coming monthly. Enjoy! Salud!

Great old school restaurant. Classic dishes. The Chile Relleno and tamale are ex excellent.
Super busy Saturday lunch. Food was average. Servers were busy but managed to be attentive.
