Its premises may be small, but the Esplanade Cafe is a famous institution in Greenock for the sheer quality of its ice cream. While it also serves other snacks and food items, it is it's legendary ice cream which draws the crowds. On sunny days (which happen occasionally in Greenock) it is normal to see a line of people waiting to purchase the said ice cream. The building is fairly small and unpretentious, the service friendly and efficient and the ice cream....to die for.
1 star food was appalling cold and sauce was disgusting. Manner in the way the staff conduct them selfs is shocking being able to talk about customers right in front of the boss. Place honestly hasn’t changed in all the years I have been to it! Also for the money you pay you would expect a smile with the service but certainly not in here and staff also not all wearing masks…? Also not using sanitiser in between food preparation
you have to try this caffes egg! it's the best I've ever done, ever smashed! we have delivered this egg from my best brother in law and we live over 300 miles away (maybe more! in england! this egg stops talking! sublime ice cream!

fantastic for eating. astonishing for a really good thing. not bad price menu. very fast. always queen, but it is 2ays good and personal are beautiful x
This little cafe was very busy mid afternoon. People out enjoying the walk along the Esplanade and stopping by for ice cream and snacks.
