I have visited this cafe quite a few times since it's opening as l live in the area mostly with my daughter & 2 yr old granddaughter!The area outside is great for kids & the kids menu is great.I have always had good food & coffee at this cafe but only once have l had good service. Mostly we have to wait far too long to have our order taken & 40-45minutes for our order to arrive even when not overly busy!The main reason why l won't return is they now charge you to use an eftpos card which is totally unreasonable & they didn't even have a sign informing of this practice. I ordered the mushrooms and sweet potato on sourdough, my partner ordered baked eggs. The mushrooms were not only raw, but were obviously very old and dry and I couldn't even break them then with my hands. My partners baked eggs were so over cooked, and had formed an egg crust on the top, and the halloumi stated on the menu was left off. Also as a Melbourne brunch spot I think they should know the difference between a latte and a flat white. I've been to 1906 three times before and have never experienced this terrible level of food before, unfortunately as a local favourite, I don't think I'll go here again. Hopefully a blip but not willing to risk it with so many other great places nearby.
This is a nice little cafe with a cute garden set up for kids to have a little play while their parents etc enjoy a coffee and a chat. The food is quite nice. The coffee is ordinary. However, you have to wonder why they bother having carts and toys for kids, if they are just going to complain about children having fun too noisily. If you don't want noisy kids, don't leave noisy toys! And to the grizzly customers who find the sounds of children laughing and having fun all too unbearable, move inside. Or better yet stay home and be miserable.
No bang for your buckDisappointed with our meals. Basic says it all.... needs to put down the pricesWe all left without finishing our meal..A first for me Would of gone elsewhere, as there is a lot of cafes in the area...Shame the place looks great... staff are lovely...great area for the lil ones.

Had brunch here this morning for the first time using an Entertainment Book voucher. Friendly attentive service, tasty food. Reasonably priced. Would definitely return.

I was so excited at the prospect of Thai tapasI love Thai and I love tapas and this was the new dining experience I was hankering for.
Such good food and service, a real gem in the area -- honestly the best cafe in Seddon! Will definitely be back many times.
