It's been a while, time to update my review! Finks has surprised me lately, enough for me to pay a visit once every two months or more. While I will still never order their wings, they have a number of items ranging from good to great. I visited this restaurant about two years ago, and unfortunately, the food was extremely salty. I called to express my concerns and suggested they speak with their chef, but the woman I spoke to seemed more focused on my request for a refund rather than addressing my issue. I clarified that I wasn’t asking for a refund; I just wanted to ensure other customers wouldn’t have the same experience. My family and I visited Fink's for my daughter's birthday dinner, hoping to enjoy their renowned barbecue, but we were sadly let down. Having been loyal customers for years, we anticipated the same delicious flavors that once wowed us, but the food we received was merely a shadow of its previous excellence. Even the sides, which used to complement the main dishes perfectly, disappointed us this time. Finks BBQ is a great find in Dumont . We stopped in for a quick lunch and decided to order appetizers. I ordered the gumbo . We ordered the Porken fries Texas lollipops, and the Smokey garlic ale shrimp All three were delicious. The shrimp comes with corn soufle which was very tasty as well. llThe Texas lollipops were Liz's favorite. We met Sam who runs the place . Good afternoon and lots of TVs if you want to catch a game . This is not the finks of a few years ago. It’s a shame because finks used to be the best bbq around…What happened?!. Every meat is dry, overcooked and lacking in flavor. The service is slow and disgruntled. Chicken was dry. Bbq wings had no flavor. Ribs were overcooked dry and lacking in flavor. Brisket tasted old and reheated.
The food is the highlight of any visit. I think there are good options for picky eaters or those that want something with a bit more kick, plus stuff both can share. Service could have been improved on my last visit, but overall I'm happy.
I went during lunchtime and the meat was dry and burnt. I think it was food cooked from the previous day and left in the fridge to be reheated. The meat was all burnt and not freshly cooked. Maybe dinner is better after cooking all day.
Great restaurant! The barbecue was amazing, and the service was excellent. It’s also very family-friendly.
