During our short break in Thirsk, we decided to stop by the Forresters Arms on a whim, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. Our visit was flawless, from the friendly and helpful staff to the delicious food and impeccably clean restrooms. I started off with a tasty sweet potato, squash, and coconut soup served with warm bread and butter on a heated plate. For my main course, I opted for a traditional dish of sausages, mash, and vegetables, while my friend enjoyed a belly pork pizza topped with cheese and barbecue sauce. Do I wish we had a pub like this in our village!!! Open on a Monday. TICK. Warm welcome. TICK. Roaring fire. TICK. Great menu. TICK. Good food. TICK. Top beers TICK. Superb location TICK. You get the picture. This is a super, traditional Yorkshire pub with rooms. As four walkers, we could not have asked for better sandwiches. The Pigs in Blankets Baguette was inspirational brilliance and tasted divine only beaten by the bestest of chunky chips. We were treated like royalty and will return for dinner and a possible overnight stay even though we live just 20 miles away. Top place. Well done and Thanks!
Wow. What a lovely place. We stayed here for 1 night. We stayed in the woodmans annex which is not part of the pub building. It a one minute walk away. The room was very spacious very clean and very well presented. We had a evening meal in the pub. I had game pie. Other half had fish and chips. Both were very generous portions and very tasty. We were by Duncan and Katie who were both very pleasant people. Breakfast in the morning was really good. All high quality produce and lots of it. A good way to start the day. Will definitely return. I initially visited this restaurant for coffee on a Saturday afternoon with my elderly dog. However, the menu looked so appealing that we ended up staying for lunch after my wife took a walk to the White Horse. Our meal surpassed our expectations from what was listed on the menu. The service was warm and friendly. The only downside was that the flat whites we ordered did not quite live up to our expectations. The coffee was tasty, but not exactly what we were expecting in terms of flat whites. Despite this small issue, we would definitely return to this restaurant.

I had to write this after ordering a festive Turkey Ballotine. £18.95 and omg. The photo doesn’t really do it justice. It was Gastro pub quality and flavours and the best ballotine I’ve ever had normally an excuse to not cook a whole turkey but it was fantastic and had all the elements of a great Xmas meal sprouts, pigs in blanket, cranberry, moist turkey, parsnip puree, beautiful gravy and veg cavelo Nero, carrots, parsnips. The fondant potato was also first class. What a fantastic plate of food at a very reasonable price.
Easily the best Sunday Roast we’ve ever had. Exceptional food and lovely friendly staff. Bonus points for being so dog friendly. Would recommend to anyone, worth making a trip to Kilburn for. There were 6 of us and all of our food was served quickly and was piping hot. Staff were so friendly and able to make some changes to the menu for us (eg smaller portion for a smaller person) Puds not to be missed either.
We visit the Forresters at least twice a year, whilst in the area, as part of a walk. It’s a nice pub, with great food and the Theakstons best bitter is superb. This pub is very welcoming and offers a wide range of menu options. The food was delicious and enjoyed by the whole family, although some items were a bit expensive. Dogs are welcome in certain areas inside the pub. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy with a fireplace going.

Ate there today. The food was lovely. Had the fish pie and sticky toffee pudding. Lovely venue and service. Would definitely return as it was such a nice place to eat and talk.
