We were very disappointed. Our son wanted to try Hibachi so we went there not knowing, that they close at 3. Also we thought we will be seeing the whole process of cooking which we did not and it was our fault not to find out. So we walked in at 2:30, after our son's game and we were told to order take outs because they are closing till 5pm. At the end they told us that we can eat in but fast. The waitress was apparently not happy that we came and was showing it very well. And than the food came. What a disappointment. Small portions, blend, nothing special at all. And we payed almost 120USD including tip for 4 meals that did not even fill us up. That is totally unacceptable.
Two weeks ago I had written a review shown below. “Great Hibachi to go. My wife and I ordered food to go. When we got it home. The food was still hot. Like they just cooked it in front of us. I highly recommend Gen.” Today my wife and I decided to go the Gen to eat. I want to say that the atmosphere was great! Everyone was nice and very helpful. All of the food we ordered was prepared quickly. The food was some of the best that I have had. If you are looking for a local hibachi restaurant. I would strongly suggest checking out this place.
spent $60 to just pack up and leave. food was bland. no flavor at all. usually u see a high price and u think oh this must be a fine dining place. i’ve been to places half the price and i wont say double the taste cuz x0 is 0. 2 stars cuz the waitress i had was sweet. just a sad experience overall. i don’t leave reviews ever but i feel like this place should try to up their game for the price just to even justify it.
The sushi and hibachi at this Bergen County restaurant are truly outstanding! The food is incredibly fresh and the staff is very accommodating. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend this place! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years.

The habachi at this restaurant is exceptionally good. The atmosphere is comfortable and the chef is entertaining. I also picked up some sashimi rolls for my co-workers, who loved them. Overall, I would rate this experience a 10 out of 10.
This was some of the worst sushi I’ve had, yet extremely expensive. We got the summer roll and the fantasy roll and both were almost inedible. They tasted very fishy and extremely salty. I 100% will not be returning here.
This was our first time visiting and it was such a pleasant surprise! The food was unbelievable and the menu was great with such creative dishes. We will definitely be back.
We had a great Habachi birthday lunch for my son and his friends today. Staff were very helpful and lunch was delicious and fun!!!

Best sushi in this area! We always ordered from GEN. And they also have Hibachi it was delicious!
Nice ambiance. Good food. My spicy beef wasn't spicy but was still good.
