I’d like to share a very unfortunate interaction with the manager of Gia Mia restaurant that occurred this week. As very dear friends of mine and residents of the Downers Grove community searched high and low through the town for their dog who was lost, they had a very distasteful interaction with the manager of this restaurant. This manager refused to allow them to put a sign up in their window to help bring home their lost dog and was also incredibly rude to them. A simple sign. This was the only business in the community that refused to help. It is incredibly disheartening. Downers Grove is known for its supportive community spirit, and it's sad that this establishment didn't choose to embody that. My friends and I had previously enjoyed dining at Gia Mia and eagerly looked forward to our visits. However, after this incident, we can no longer support this business. I hope that in the future, the staff can show empathy towards those in need, as it would make a significant difference. It's truly disappointing to witness such a lack of compassion.
This was my first time dining at a GIA MIA location. I ordered the Pasta Gia and while the dish was good, for 17 dollars, I expected it to come with a starter salad or AT LEAST a piece of garlic bread on the side. They didn’t even provide us with bread for the table!? I skipped lunch to build an appetite, and ended up scarfing my meal, with no leftovers to take home and enjoy later :

I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent value for money. I dined there for dinner, and I found the prices per person to be quite reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5, as was the service, which also received a 5. Additionally, the atmosphere was delightful, also scoring a 5. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!
The food here is excellent, and the desserts are incredible, particularly the Tiramisu. I appreciate the flexibility they offer with modifications to dishes. I highly recommend this place! They also have great deals: 50% off wines on Wednesdays and 50% off pizzas on Tuesdays. If you have dietary restrictions, you'll be pleased to know they offer gluten-free pizza options.

The Pear and Caramelized Onion Pizza and the Bruno were both outstanding. The crust has a delightful thinness, reminiscent of traditional Italian bread on the edges. I also really enjoyed the Zucchini Fries!
