I was staying in Lostwithiel and googled take aways nearby and I only had a choice of 2 places that were open, an Indian or here, the Golden Dynasty. I opted for the Chinese and arrived shortly before it closed... At first I didn 't think it was open, not in a shut kind of way but in no longer in business kind of way. It 's in need of a refurb both externally and more importantly internally, it was just all a bit grubby and worn and with greasy hand and finger prints on the door and windows. I was in two minds as to whether to risk ordering from here or not, but not having enough time to search elsewhere I decided to order. As for the food, the duck had very little meat and the sauce was unpleasant. The chow mein was decent and the salt and pepper ribs were good. However, the crispy chilli beef was terrible. It was covered in a tasteless gelatinous coating. This was disappointing as it used to be my favorite dish and was delicious in the past. It seems that they now use the same unappetizing sauce on multiple dishes. It's a shame the food quality has declined since the ownership changed.
I had a delicious salt and pepper chicken at this restaurant, which was both tasty and spicy! I got my meal as a takeout for dinner. The price per person ranged from £20 to £30. The food was top-notch, receiving a rating of 5, as was the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying the Egg Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Chips.
