The food was really good, however the atmosphere wasn't great and the service was a let down. The waitress had to come back to us to confirm what we ordered (which needed a correction) and then they also forgot part of our meal. Our sparkling water was topped up with tap water and we also watched a couple of the staff drop items off plates and then continue to take the plate to the table rather then taking it back to get fixed. In isolation these aren't so bad, however when combined it made for a bit of disappointment especially for a restaurant of this standard.
I enjoyed a wonderful lunch of oysters, prawns, scallops and sourdough bread. The Witch's Falls Sauvignon Blanc was a very poor quality one. The colour was wrong for SB, the taste was sour and with the amazing range of Marlborough SBs on the market, the GOMA Restaurant could easily choose a more palatable one.
This restaurant is a really fantastic 'day out ' treat for us. I love the attention to artistic detail, the fact we can languish over a superb, fresh and creative menu, and chat with the staff about the current shows and artists represented by the gallery. Loving this restaurant.
We had the chefs menu and we were a little disappointed with the portion size and therefore the value for money. The lamb belly was nearly all fat. The prawn dish was excellent although there was only one prawn.

We have been eating at Goma for years and this time did not disappoint. Delicious and creative. Just what one would expect from art gallery design and taste. Oysters and scallops Wow!!
Hugo was amazing! 10/10! Food beautiful! Loved everything about it. Would definitely be back and will tell others about the high level of service and excellent food.

The menu has a interesting selection and well presented with intricate touches! Staff were fabulous! We had a wonderful long lunch ! Highly recommend!
