I've been a customer here for nearly three years, and I was really disappointed the other day when I called to place an order. I asked if someone could bring my food to my car because I have two kids, and getting them in and out of the car—especially in the cold—can be quite a hassle. They refused to bring the food to my car, even though they have done so in the past. I really love this restaurant, but this situation has left me feeling discouraged, and I will likely start going to B Greek and GreekXpress instead. Additionally, when I used to dine in, we would often be charged for extra tzatziki, which is not something I've experienced at other restaurants.
Not going back. I'm not sure what happened to this place. I hear it has new owners. I used to eat here often, but didn't for about two before returning in August. I ordered a Gyro entrée. It was mediocre. I assumed they were just having a bad night and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the same thing last night, and it was worse. Tzatziki sauce tastes like cucumbers and yogurt, no seasoning whatsoever. The Gyro meat tasted stale, which I don't quite understand, considering how busy they are. The pita was leathery. Flavorless rice. Very sad, I used to like this place.
I ordered takeout and everything was fantastic! We tried the lemon chicken soup, which was hearty and thick with plenty of chicken, and it arrived piping hot. The small Greek salad with chicken was actually huge, packed with toppings. The lemon potato side was massive as well—enough to easily share among three people. The gyro was enormous too; we were able to get a side pita and make two gyros out of it, which we did, and they were delicious. Everything was well-packaged and arrived on time. I highly recommend this restaurant!
A causal atmosphere with fresh and delicious Greek food served up by the pleasant waitstaff. I could just have eaten the block of feta olives and peppers with the traditional red wine vinegar dressing as the main course. The salad was crisp and fresh like they picked it straight from the garden out back. No wonder it received an award in 2023 for best Greek restaurant. A wonderful RVC staple. Used to go to this establishment often in the last three years. New ownership has decided to nickel and dime their patrons. Credit card surcharge even if a Debit card is used. Surcharges for salad 3.00 if you don't want French fries with you plate meal. Even a delivery surcharge of 3.00 for delivery. The food is OK , just not worth the price for what your getting.
We ordered the Grilled Cheese Gyro platter and mozzarella sticks, and they were delicious! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Greektown has consistently impressed me over the past couple of years, and I've never been disappointed. While we've stopped by the restaurant a few times, we usually prefer to order takeout, and it’s always been superb!
