Had the pleasure of stopping by this delightful deli at the corner of Strand and E. Columbia Street (near Brunette) in New Westminster. You may recognize the area as Holland Shopping Centre location or where the Soup Nazi' from the Seinfeld show has delighted patrons...with his No Soup For You'. Don't let the outside fool you the food is fantastic! The staff are attentive; efficient and wasted no time in having our Chicken Caesar Wrap ready before we dished out our soups. We had 4 selections of soup to choose from: Cabbage roll; vegetable; borsch; and my choice of Wicked Thai yum! I absolutely love' soups and the Wicked Thai was amazing! All the soups are thick and hearty a meal in themselve...
Obviously very popular with locals, this is a great hidden spot in New West look for the green awning out front. Huge menu, 6 soups/stews to choose from....so many choices! Food was prepped VERY quickly these people are very efficient and know how...to deal with a lunch crowd properly. Depending on where you sit, you might even get your sandwich delivered by a little train that runs around the room's perimeter. Chicken sandwich had big chunks of roasted chicken, and all of the food was quite good. Will be back. While my wife was in the hospital up the road I stopped in here for lunch. I was under a lot of stress so was not the happiest person to be around. The staff was warm and welcoming. The owner had a great sarcastic sense...of humour. Naming me Mr Trip Advisor after I explained I had read good things about the place on here. She said she didn't bother with that stuff I ordered the Mile High Club House and was not disappointed! Quickly served, stacked high with 3 meats(the way a club is supposed to be and very tasty. I left with a full belly and the banter put a smile on my face, which I really needed! I would definitely return but hopefully under better circumstances. Thanks ladies!
I have enjoyed many a sandwich and soup here. This home style sandwich bar has a next door neighborhood feel to it. Such a warm and friendly staff, they will treat you like they have known you for years. They have a great selection of...fresh bread and make your sandwich to order. There are usually 3 or 4 types of homestyle soups to choose from as well. If you have kids, you can have your sandwich delivered by a hobby size train that runs along the windows of this deli.
this is a remarkable lunch restaurant. always a series of great suppen options – I am a great fan of the wicked thai supp chickene. a fantastic selection of sandwich selections and many named after regular who participate. the personal, what should I say? great. and so wonderfully connected to the clientele. always, always, always a positive and pleasant experience.
the green and buoy in business well over 20 years, I still remember, I love going to her old coffee s business on 4 street for suppe when they work or around sapperton area living, this deli is one of the well managed...family deli, homemade suppe, much suppe and sandwich to choose from, much healthy and reasonable price, since the covid 19, the deli only offer!
Super solid deli. Great sandwiches. Always super fresh. Soups are very good... make sure you try the Thai Chicken Wicked. SUPER GOOD. Mile high clubhouse, roast beef sammies made with a fresh beef roast cooked in-house, strawberry white chocolate scones. Super close to the hospital...for people looking to grab an easy lunch for someone who needs some real food!
