I have been a customer of Herm's for at least 30 years. My grandfather started taking me there when I was a child. My grandmother used to take me to a place across the street that's now closed—can't remember the name. My dad would take me to Poochie's, and my mom took me to Irving's. I even had the pleasure of working at Hot Joints. Herm's Palace truly has it figured out. The service is friendly and they remembered my order even after I had been away for years. The hot dogs are fantastic with that perfect snap, and I love the shoestring fries. They’re also one of the few places where you can choose between Pepsi or Coke.
Herms is truly a palace for the taste buds. But Scott, the man at the counter, truly makes you feel like you are part of the family, just another seat at his table. This place is truly a MUST STOP for anyone visiting the Skokie area, or the greater Chicago area for that matter!! Herm's Hot Dog Palace epitomizes Chicago both through their absolutely incredible food (Chicago Hot Dogs here are the best!!! but the absolutely amazing atmosphere that Scott and his family running this Palace create for every customer that walks through the door!
Best fried salami on french bread! Best cheese balls! Best hotdogs! Best cheese burgers! Best wet beef with sweet peppers! Best Pizza puff! Great people!!!! Man I wish I was there now
Awesome food and great service. I live in Milwaukee and anytime I'm in Chicago area I make a point to stop in. Everything is good but my favorite is the Ham, Salami and cheese

what can I say about this place, eating is great. the employees are about ingenious, love to detail. Eating is better than others in the area of skokie and evanston.
Great service and inexpensive. This place has the thickest, richest, and most satisfying malts in the city! Really tasty and inexpensive fried appetizers too.
What a friendly crowd. Great service is clearly a big deal, only been twice and I'm already remembered. Great fries and a proper Chicago dog.
