Okay, first out of the food is fantastic. One of the best pizzas in the state and one of the best meatballs I had in my life. However, the reason I write this review is because of their customer service. The Hoagie’s Essex staff is always top notch, and they were always friendly and patient when I eat in the house. But after a busy and stressful day, I decided to take-out...20 minutes before it closed. I felt incredibly guilty about it (working with a service job, last-minute orders before closing on a Saturday night are the WORST), but the hostess who took my order was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I'm one of the most picky people anyone would have to prepare for. I have met many impatient waiters or counterforces at numerous places around Vermont to go only without ordering anything! Then I found Hoagies! There is no restaurant that even comes close to preparing and serving the best meals in this area! The owner and the whole staff welcome everyone like family. Hoagies is by far the place to relax the family and / or friend 's, have an ingenious meal, and will never get out of the door! Absolutely <3 <3 <3 this place!! Do not forget about children or the Grandkiddo 's... they too <3 <3 Hoagies!!
Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and had a pleasant experience overall. The food was quite good, earning a solid 4 out of 5 for its quality and flavor. The service was also impressive, with attentive staff who ensured our needs were met throughout the evening, deserving another 4 rating. However, the atmosphere was a bit lacking, as it felt somewhat average and didn’t quite elevate the dining experience, which is why I gave it a 3. Overall, it was a satisfying meal worth trying, especially for the reasonable price range.
After the lunch rush. Very few people in the place. Food was very good. Service was good. Tables weren't quite as clean as I think they should be...could have used a wipe down. Seem to be very knowledgeable about gluten intolerance. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options and staff knowledgeable of and empathetic to Gluten issues. A few years ago, I relocated from Essex to Shelburne. Whenever I visit Essex, I always bring an insulated bag so I can take Hoagies' pizza back home with me. I personally enjoy their bacon and pineapple pizza, while the rest of my family prefers it packed with super-hot peppers. The quality of the pizza is consistently outstanding, making the hour-long trip absolutely worthwhile for me.
