I visited recently with family for dinner, we go every month somewhere new. This is the only place we have been to where we will be booking again for sure!! From the friendly welcome, to the delicious food they have so got it sorted. The only constructive points I could make is, the tarter sauce with the fish chips to be in a small side pot, instead of being placed directly on the plate, and better presentation of the desserts. Locally we have not been to a pub with better homemade desserts, they need to celebrate this by presenting them in either a bigger dish or on plates rather than crammed into small black bowels. This would ensure the rest of the pub can see them and will want to order...
Nice character pub in Breedon on the Hill. We've been on several occasions and never has the food been anything but excellent. There are always some good beers on draught too. The service is always friendly and professional. You have to watch out for the low beams, but that's all part of the charm of an old pub. Will definitely keep visiting!
Not much choice but when the pie is so delicious who needs choice? Steak &Ale crumbly short pastry, tender chunks of steak, lashings of rich gravy. Mmmmm Great ale Cornish Proper Job. The young barman and his waitress sister worked their socks off, were cheerful and efficient. Bloomin fantastic well done, thoroughly enjoyed the evening!
We have been here twice; the first time there were two of us and we had lunch in the bar, the second time there were 18 (walking group) and we had the restaurant. Excellent food. Very helpful and friendly staff. it's a local, perhaps not the place for special occasions but we had two very good experiences.
