We stayed for one night prior to a flight at East Midlands Airport and everything was excellent, from the warm, welcoming staff, to the rooms and the simply delicious food (evening and breakfast). Firstly the pub: food, drinks, restaurant… All excellent. The sign of a great pub for ale drinkers is one with knowledgeable staff who are keen to let you sample before deciding on a pint. This was the case here and we worked through all five real ales during the afternoon and evening! Also a great selection of wines, and everything served in the correct glasses I loved the attention to detail. We arrived to a warm welcome after a 6 hr drive. The Inn was clean and fresh and had a lovely ambiance. We was shown to our room that was in a cute quiet courtyard at the rear of the inn. The room was quaint and had everything we could possibly need. We ate in the restaurant, the food was lovely and freshly cooked, if I had one criticism was a bit more potato topping on the shepherds pie. Our beds were so comfortable and the shower powerful. We will definitely stay again.
We booked this restaurant for our Golden wedding anniversary with family, ten of us and had rooms as well. The food was good, lots of different things were ordered and everyone enjoyed what they had. The service was very good, everyone was friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere. We all slept well and enjoyed a good breakfast together in the morning. Thanks to all the staff for making it a very special time
We met up with friends today on our annual Sunday lunch get-together. We were greeted with warmth and taken to our table. The food was excellent, including the cheeseboard, which was generous in size. The staff were amazing and plight. This was a five a five star meal for us all. But , dead flies and cobwebs in the window were a little off-putting. We will visit again.
