An absolute must if you are in Roanoke. My husband and I are traveling around the Mainland in a trailer for a while from Hawaii we were getting new tires on the trailer at Campingworld and ask the service guy, Ellis, where a great local place to have dinner was, he didn't even hesitate. I checked out some reviews here on Urban Spoon and we headed over. No regrets at all! This place is friendly and solidly good! They're not afraid to use the spices or mash things up a bit. great restaurant! the personal is so sweet, they can say they love from the city men. the us- and world maps with push-pins from anyone who has eaten it is worth it only by themselves. I have the fried green tomaten blt with my Pimento cheese on the side and pasta salad. my son got the white bean chicken chili and my man got the open face roast beef with carrots and green beans. the green beans were really amazing as the huhn chili. all in all a great place to stop directly from the interstate.
This is well prepared, tasty food. Great staff friendly and helpful. Try the in house rye bread. Coconut cake was moist and delicious; consider myself an expert in cake dept. The place was filled with locals, I take this To be a good sign. The hardest part was deciding between coconut, carrot and chocolate cake guess I'll have to return and give each a try.
I had the fried green tomatoes on bed of mushroom grits topped with pimento cheese and scallions. The tomatoes and pimento cheese were amazing! The kind of amazing that made my eyes roll to back in my head. The grits were overcooked, salty and over seasoned. In my opinion, plain course yellow grits, would have better complimented this savory dish. Réservez une table maintenant
Don’t bother if you’re vegan. The only thing I could order without a load of cheese on it was hummus and then I paid for feta which on request was left off. Should’ve ordered the rice bean cheese option sans cheese. That was extent of offerings for vegans. Gotta pack More food on road trips
last year we visited hollywoods at four locations: once with friends and the rest of the meal. we tried both lunch and dinner menus. the waiting staff is all personal, but eating leaves much to be desired. we found all the main courses crazy salty. my theory is that the cook is a smoker.
Stopped here on a roadtrip, but wasn't super impressed. It was nice that they had a vegetarian section on their menu, but the Sunshine Wrap I had wasn't as good as a similar meal at Chipotle might've been. One standout was the unique tomato dill salad dressing they offer loved it!
