We booked the only room that appeared on the booking page and I suspect it was the cheapest what they had right at the top of the stairs. The beds were simple, but enough, and the bathroom wasn't in the room, but it was just outside. Pretty awful decoration and tired looking bedding, but I guess you get what you pay. With only mild warm weather the room was a bit unpleasant and it was hard to get air into it. That wouldn't be a good room in hot weather. Note that the church is very close and the bells ring every quarter hour around the clock the hotel has provided earplugs near the entrance! Breakfast was the usual ample German buffet and OK for quality. The location of the hotel is excellen...
Hidden away just off the market square in Boppard is this gem. Having had several huge meals on our travels in Germany, we saw the menu offered smaller meals and meals for seniors. These were at attractive prices. When the meals came (freshly cooked) they were not small, but of high quality. On our first visit, an English school party was being fed, but we were found seats away from them. Service was swift and pleasant.On our second visit, the school party had gone and the service and food were superb. We had been recommended bu our Hotel owner to eat here and he was right. It was very good and real value for money.
First time with 4 friends: a hearty welcome from Simone and a wonderful, traditional German meal: Gulaschsuppe,Sauerbraten mit Knoedel, Jaegerschnitzel, Zigeunerschnitzel, Zander, alle mit frischen und grossen Portionen. Absolut koestlich! Bier, Wein und Sekt zum richtigen Temperatur.Second time alone (2 years later): Simone remembered me! Once again, a hearty welcome and some of the items mentioned above, all to the same superb quality.Wir waren bei der Rechnung nicht schockiert! Es war ganz preiswert.Ich komme bald wiieder mit einem neuen Gast - das ist sicher. Ich freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen!
