J Gumbo's Highlands

I used to love the food here. Lately I've been holding off in leaving public reviews. I have mentioned to the workers that the food is not tasting the same. Too much of this, not enough of that. Definitely a change in recipes. My most recent visit was it. I ordered half drunken chicken half bumble bee stew over the traditional rice. Soo many complaints, I'm not sure where to start. First, that bowl. With no drink cost me o er 10. Second, the quantity was mostly rice. Third, the quantity of the entrees were less than impressive. It's...just OK. The shrimp etouffee shrimp in a golden roux with celery, onion, and pepper was really just bland. The shrimp were of a nice size, plump and fresh, but the dish just had no spice and was evidently tailored to a much more basic palate. The voodoo nachos make your own nachos, any of the entrees over chips. The voodoo is chicken is in a spicy cajun tomato sauce with garlic and spices . Again, it was literally chicken with queso over chips. No spice, very little interest beyond a standard nacho flavor. I know the name of this place could be miss leading. Because J Gumbos isnt like your granny's Gumbo. It isnt like Louisiana Gumbo. J Gumbos is white rice topped with chicken and different types of sauces. The sauces are mild,hot,and extremely hot sauce. They also have white chili jambalaya. You also get a piece of garlic bread with every order. Trust me! Order a extra piece of garlic bread you will not regret it. delicious and filling!!! Definitely gets 5 crowns in my book?????. I have to say it's one of a kind I never had soup that taste so good ever! this place should go to great events and offer sample and observe how it grows. the suppe has the potential to take off and I speak internationally. Do they not believe me? they try. I did and really glad I did. I hope I helped someone. Réservez une table maintenant

voodoo chicken gumbo by j gumbo did me a love spell? it had a good amount of heat the art, the U sweats and suck them their mouth and great taste plus the restaurant was cute and clean can not wait to taste the other dishes

I very rarely leave poor reviews, but the Gumbo and Jambalaya are not flavorful. Gave 2 stars only because the Bread Pudding was on point. Be advised; set very low expectations if this is your first time. Will not return.

crawfish etouffee ordered to go and it was delicious. Except the rice was really undercooked, almost unusable. it is an absolute scandal, because the court has great taste and many cancers, but the tear simply ruins it
