Some of the nices people around. I can talk all day with them. I been looking for the big peanut patties for a long time and found them there. I bought 3 and already ate one. The prices on the meats are good and reasonable. If you have never been there you really should. Avoid this place for meat processing. I strongly suggest driving a bit further down Highway 59 to Prasek's. I used to be a fan of this restaurant and relied on them for many years to process my game. However, after the change in ownership, they increased their processing fees three times within a year. They quoted me $330 just to quarter one deer to yield 30 pounds of ground venison, which breaks down to over $10 a pound—and I brought the meat to them! I would not recommend coming here.
Just a heads up— the gas station is currently closed, and Juniors Smokehouse will also be closing as of September 1, 2024. There’s no fresh bakery items available, and the inventory is quite limited as they prepare for the closure. The staff was very friendly during my visit, but I’m posting this review as a warning in case you’re hoping to grab a snack on the road!
I enjoyed some great barbecue, and the Chile Paquin sausage had a nice kick to it. For takeout, the service was excellent. I’d say it was a fantastic experience overall. The cost per person was around $20 to $30. I would give the food, service, and atmosphere all a solid 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the jerky! Réservez une table maintenant
The chopped beef sandwich was fantastic! I ordered takeout for lunch, and I found it to be a great value at around $10–20 per person. The food was outstanding, with a perfect score of 5, just like the service and atmosphere, which also received a 5. I highly recommend trying the Chopped Brisket Sandwich!
Forget bukies chipmunk.. for THE BEST KOLACHES around! Poppie seed and prune are my favorites. Stop any time we are going that way. Down home feeling interesting gifts.
