This little place is a real find. My friend took me here for lunch and we were not disappointed. YI'm The friendly owner and staff made us welcome from the moment we arrived. The decor creates South Africa from the newspapers on the walls, to the photos, books, artefacts, groceries, wine and tableware. The food is the real thing - think of your favourite and they probably have it available. We indulged in a gourmet boereworst roll with sauté onions, cheese and lettuce with a glass SA white wine, followed by dessert of milk tart and homemade sponge with raspberry filling - all were delightful and very tasty. The red cappuccino was a new taste experience we will definitely be having again. When you first walk in there is a grocery store stocked with South African goodies. We were quite surprised that there even was a restaurant. We ordered coffees first while we trawled over the menu. I was quite taken back when I noticed some delicacies were not on the menu, as my boyfriend is south African and I would know this. Everyone's meals came out steadily except for a couple of ladies. We're a group of 10 and 8 of us had virtually finished our meals before there's was brought out. We ordered close in time to each other and there meals were just Vienna sausage and chips.Another two ladies ordered Borewos roll. Problem was the plate was so small that it practically dwarfed the food. It...

I was brought here by a friend and it was a real surprise. Most South African shops in Perth are not in main thoroughfares. This was more than the usual South African shop. The rooibos cappuccino was piping hot and delicious and served in a beautiful cup(I had two!). The menu was full of South African favourites like bunny chow and vetkoek. ( My husband would love it!) I had a peri peri chicken salad which was lovingly prepared. So often salads have lacklustre ingredients. The staff were friendly and helpful and great care has been taken with the decor. Customers obviously feel relaxed and welcome. I also bought some lovely South African wines.

This place indeed gives you a taste of Africa with meals with an African touch. The burgers are made with a fried dough bun which has to be tasted to appreciate how delicious it is. My husband and I tried the wagyu beef pattie burger, bacon and egg burger and the peri peri chicken burger. All three were super delicious. Coffee is good too especially if you order it with their small but delicious range of cake and muffins. The milk tart can be ordered as a take home tart and makes a good dessert for the family. This cafe is very "rustic" with meals served on tin plates. (beautifully chipped.) Réservez une table maintenant

So....as I promised myself, we came back for the bunny chow. Definitely worth it!Didn't ask, but the owners must have at least spent some time in Durban, the home of the Bunny The curry was mild but good. As an ex Durbanite I would make one request. ...could you do some sambles to go with it? It could be made with chilli (like the old "bum burner") and could be used to adjust the hotness? Loved it though!!!

As expats, we do yearn for a taste of the Fatherland and to be sure, most of the patrons were Saffies, but I wonder if Aussies wouldn't really enjoy the fare if they gave it a chance?Pity we went a bit too early to sample the Bunnies, but the vetkoek was excellent and oh so filling! Decor authentic too, with lots of food for nostalgia.Definitely coming back for the bunny!

The atmosphere is that of a trading store, orders are placed at the counter. The food is average but not special. Very much a Transvaal / Freestate fast food, idea.

The atmosphere is friendly and they make the best Long Macciatto. They have a wide range of South African wines and a menu which is different but great food. Réservez une table maintenant
