The food was really, really good. Compliments to the chef and for that the retaurant would have deserved 5 stars. Right at the start we have been informed by Mario (supposedly the owner) about the long waiting time for the food as we had no...reservation. We had no problem at all with waiting a long time indeed for the food. At the end we wanted to pay, after having waited some more time after finishing our meals but Mario was outside chatting with clients or friends. We as clients had to stand up and approach/ask him for the bill. He replied that we should please wait for him to finish his cigarette bc god has also created the world only in 7 days etc. Indeed he took his time to finish said cigarette and chat, which was highly unprofessional und rude which is why the whole experience was overshadowed in a negative way at the end unfortunately.
Most amazing, genuine and well cooked food. The truffle pasta was the best pasta I had I my life, perfect al'dente and well balanced flavors. The service however was even MORE amazing, well received by the friendly Italian man. Even if he didn't speak english...we managed to get a superior service and after the food he offered us some lemocello on the house. Overall grateful for stopping by this diamond!
I just dined at Al Cilento and it was amazing!! The best Italian I’ve had in Switzerland! I had the carbonara which was cooked to perfection. My friend had the lasagna which was equally as good. The portions were very gracious, but we managed to...somehow fit in Tiramisu and ice cream for dessert which I highly recommend. The owner was very funny and made for an entertaining evening.
