I worked in Peru for several months a year ago and loved the food. I live near San Antonio and have tried both Austin and San Antonio since to try and find good Peruvian food to no avail. Today while visiting Houston, we came across this place and thought we'd give it a try. VERY happy we did. I ordered my favorite Peruvian meal, Lomo Saltado for the wife and myself. Both of us loved it! The maracuya wasn't as good as in Peru but it was still pretty good. The waitress was very nice. The food came quickly and the portions were good. If I could have spoke to the owner, the only thing I'd suggest is adding pan de queso and picarones to the menu. Still, even without those, this place is highly r...
I am delighted to visit this charming restaurant every week. The staff is incredibly respectful and professional. The waitresses are always smiling, gracefully moving about like princesses, and they never complain, not even with a sigh. Dining at this Peruvian restaurant is a truly satisfying experience; you feel like a special guest here, enjoying an excellent variety of gourmet dishes—some of the best in the world. Peruvian cuisine is regarded as a gastronomic treasure, showcasing high-quality food with amazing flavors. This is the perfect place to indulge in a wonderful culinary experience, complete with excellent service and joyful live music on the weekends.
Excellent restaurant, one of the best! They just need to hire more staff. When you walk in nobody even say Hi cause the host is a server too and she is running from place to place. People just walk in and have to wait until somebody acknowledge them. I saw a couple leave after 5 minutes wait. They even forgot to bring chips to the table, by the time I realized food was already coming. They need to hire a couple extra hands for sure. Other than that food is amazing!!! That's the only reason for my 5 stars instead of 3. Also the place was impecable, super clean!
Excellent food. The ceviche is beyond wonderful. So good that I haven't been able to try other dishes! Others in my party have tried various dishes and have also been impressed. One might say the service is slow but this is a family owned business, they do their best. Too many people think fast is best: La Guitarra con Sazon is to be experienced and savored. No time? Love the food here. Everything is typically a hit and on the money. The Huancaina noodles with Lomo Saltado are my fav. So good. Arroz con mariscos is delicious too. Anticuchos could use some more seasoning. Causa is great. Dessert is very nice tres leches and mil hojas de Lucuma pictured. This is the go to spot for Peruvian food for our family. Excellent Peruvian food here. Ordered the Aji de Gallina and it was fantastic. Last time I had that dish it was in Santiago and let me tell you, they nailed it. Dove in and was halfway through before I even thought about taking a picture. Had the Papa Rellena as an appetizer, also very good. If you've been searching for great Peruvian food in Houston, this is the place!
First time here and WOW! The salsa with chips is Devine and Super HOT! The Tamal Peruano and the Choritos a La Chalaca were excellent! I loved the lemon juice resting in each spoon waiting for my mouth to open up! If you have not tried this place yet, you have to go!
Really good Peruvian food. The children's dishes are great and different. The potatoes were really delicious. We ordered Ceviche, aji de gallina and lomo salado. I'll give the food 4/5. Very attentive service. The flan was sooo yummy!! I'd go back. Réservez une table maintenant
