Located out of the way of busy town and being so local, me and my girlfriend tried La Tana with a craving for Italian cuisine. One of the restaurants you’d walk past and for some reason not try just yet, but what a regret that was! We loved it here, staff were so friendly and the restaurant was small but welcoming, very vibrant and friendly atmosphere and even as it got busy it still carried a calming and joyful aura. My wife, son and myself went for an evening meal to celebrate my birthday. We had to pre book and it was very busy. The staff were very friendly, the service excellent, the place very clean and the food extremely enjoyable. We didn't bother with starters. I had the steak (cook your own on a hot stone) this was served with chips and a beautifully prepared/designed salad. 3 different dips were supplied and also very decoratively presented. We have been visiting La Tana for approximately 10 years. It is our “go to favourite restaurant”. Always guaranteed stunning food, fabulous atmosphere and friendliest service possible. The owner Ali makes everyone feel special and is passionate about his restaurant. Couples, families, special occasions…. everyone is always happy. I’d recommend trying to book beforehand if possible. Mind you the staff will also move tables etc to try to accommodate customers. Last year I brought my family friends and one of party is a highly respected chef. We visited this restaurant this evening and had a pleasant experience. Our server, Priscilla, was friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. However, I was disappointed to see that some of the dishes appeared to be microwaved and served in plastic containers. This took away from the authenticity of the meal. The tiramisu was also not up to par. Despite these issues, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely, earning the restaurant a 5-star rating. I just hope they take more care with their preparation methods in the future. Priscilla, our server, was particularly amazing.

What a treat family run restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and friendly welcome. Food is reasonably priced and fresh ingredients are used. Good portion sizes and nice wine list. Prompt service. This restaurant is nearly always fully booked at the weekends so you will need to book in order to avoid disappointment. Cant wait to return and will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our meal and dessert, everything was nice. However, when we ordered coffees, we were informed that we needed to leave as they needed the table. This was an embarrassing and unpleasant experience. It's not a good look for a local restaurant to treat customers this way.
Lovely family run Italian restaurant the chef takes great pride before he executes dishes: This place is loved by guests it was fully booked. A hidden gem in the Brighton area and we will back for sure. We had bruchetta to start and pizza simple and original. Grazie Mille
Excellent restaurant, an great Italian venue. Very friendly staff. I had tagliatelle salmon my partner had duck cherry sauce. She commented it was the best duck she had ever eaten. The red wine was brilliant. A great evening.
