My wife and I were heading to Hobart to slip out of the world for a few days. So glad we booked here. Happily both my wife and I appreciate good steak, as this is a great strength of the kitchen. I don't reckon this kitchen is about pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity, I think they are about using fantastic ingredients and enhancing them for the plate.That was certainly what we got from the seafood and the beef. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience much better than the old HJ restaurant. Every staff member that served us during the evening was of the highest standard which again could be hit or miss in the old HJ restaurant. The food menu has a seafood and steak focus. Everyone who had the fish or seafood raved about their meals. Those who had the steak were less exuberant. If you are vegetarian there is one entrée and one main choice. Our group of six very seasoned traveler's (four from Tasmania and two from Sydney) met up here for a meal after pre dinner drinks at the Macq 01 (where we stayed) across the road.Having just returned from a couple of months in Europe and having been spoiled with French cuisine, this was not a disappointment but at the same time not fantastic.What we loved was the mix of separate vegetable dishes to accompany the meals.We also liked the broad choice of dishes and good wine selection.What we did not like was the mark up for the local wines. A surprise Birthday couldn't have been more special that to dine in a Restaurant of such high standard! We could not fault any dish and the stand out for me and anyone i allowed a taste, was the Beef Tartar, presented in a very unique way., The service was impeccable and the staff were friendly, and extremely knowledgeable with wines and dishes. We were told by the Receptionist at our hotel after voices our approval to her, that he chef was trained under high profile chefs including Michelin Star Chefs., I'm sure it will only be a matter of time for this Chef to add this to his belt., Thankyou!!!

WOW!< br>/ what an amazing culinary experience. the decor is stunning and has only a beautiful feeling about it. the staff was very good. the menu is fabulous. the wine list is very extensive. the escape was the king fish and calamari both were perfectly presented and full of wonderful fresher aromas. haupt was a steak and the pasta. both perfect dishes. I had the pasta and it was just stunning and had a perfect balance of aromen. finish was a stocky cream caramel and the apple tarte didin were nice to see and taste adapted. a breathtaking evening and a wonderful culinary experience.
Visited Landscape on a recent weekend trip to Hobart after reading great reviews. Landscape did not let us down! Amazing uncomplicated food, great wine list and impeccable service from knowledgeable wait staff. They also make a mean martini! Ambience was perfect, great lighting, oversized and well spaced tables and not too noisy. Highly recommended.
Evening meal here. Greeting pleasant and friendly, seated quickly. Extensive drinks list. Wait staff excellent. Good selection on the menu with Tasmanian foods on offer. Menu explained well. Surroundings pleasant and original paintings on the walls. Food well presented and fresh. For special occasions.

Part of Henry Jones hotel and close to the long bar the restaurant is ideally placed on the waterfront in Hobart. Wine list, menu selection and service exceptional. Steak fantastic and as always you can't miss the Tassie oysters. Will be back.
