We hadn't visited Largs Bay for many years as we usually go to the beach at Semaphore just up the road. It was great to see both the improvements and the old jetty. The kiosk is very traditional serving the usual ice creams, chips and some healthier options. Best thing is that it is super dog friendly. We ate our ice cream surrounded by friendly pooches and their owners and it was a very relaxed way to have some refreshment. Largs is even more laid back than Semaphore and the kiosk is a wonderful mix of old and new. A good children's play area is next door and if you want a more substantial meal the Largs Pier hotel is just across the road.
Been here a couple of times and not disappointed. Fish is plump, white and fresh with light delicious batter. Not slimy or skin on which is very common here. Chips are fairly average but I'm more concerned how good the fish is. Very reasonable prices and service is quick. Far better than Sohos at Semaphore which everyone seems to rave about.
I just paid $17 for two large butterfish, a cup of chips and one can of drink. The fish needed a search and rescue exercise to find it in the soggy batter, the chips were so salty they were inedible. The location is prime, the kiosk run down. There are much better places along the coast. With better value for money.
