This is such an incredible place! My favourite go-to for perfectly flavored and nutritious Asian food in Boston. They always accomodate my unusual dietary preferences with a smile. The people that work here are so very warm and it feels like they truly put love into every aspect and detail. From the way the takeout is packaged to the way they plate and present the dishes, everything is done with care and thoughtfulness. And the taste and quality of the food is unparalleled. No oily over cooked noodles here. They use fresh ingredients and every dish I?ve ordered here has been consistently tasty whether it was delivery or eat-in. And did I mention they are super efficient and fast! I almost didn?t want to write this review because I don?t want too many people to mob my favorite restaurant in Boston but my heart was extra warmed when I found out today that they?re also family run. I hope the world knows just how amazing they are!!

I decided to splash on the Grandmakase for a special occasion, and Laughing Monk was highly recommended by a friend. I had an excellent Omakase experience for much less in NYC, so a part of me was concerned that I was was was wasting my money. I was so wrong. Each piece was an artwork and a melting good. That was a good meal without the stuff. There were several courses with uni, toro and wagyu, all with very creative presentations, and all prepared right in front of us. We had such a good time, we stayed for 3 hours without realizing it. I can't believe this place is not booked in advance. *I just add that if you are not a big drinker, a single-sake pairing is much for sharing 2.

I never got my food in my life as fast as Laughing Monk Cafe. We sat, we looked over the menu and got two sushi rolls and some spicy fried noodles. After the order it could not have been longer than 2-3 minutes before we cooked our first sushi roll and hot noodles perfectly with crispy chicken. They hardly had time to take our plates away before they gave us our deluxe role, the firing dragon role they made look like a real dragon! That was so cool. If you are looking for high quality food served so quickly and efficiently that your head turns this point is ideal. I recommend getting the dragon roll because it's totally sick.

An absolutely brilliant and highly innovative restaurant! Personally, I would not consider this as a Thai restaurant, as the menu seems to be mostly Japanese. All sushi we ordered were freshly prepared and delicious, and the ingredients were high quality. The use of brown rice was new to me, but I found it surprisingly nice and would say it is definitely worth a try! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the prices where reasonable- this place is definitely one to visit.
