Le Carre des Maitres

We loved this restaurant so much we went two evenings in succession. Lovely setting suspended over the river on a balcony, very warm and helpful staff, and the food was consistently excellent. As the restaurant is also a wine shop it was fun selecting the wine with a modest corkage charge. Each night there's a different menu with a choice of two starters, mains and desserts all for just 21 euros so great value. I think this restaurant is truly wonderful and I will certainly return next time we visit the Ardeche.

This restaurant, led by the owner of the wine store next door, offers exquisite dishes (although the choice is limited to two possibilities). We loved the Joue de Porc. Of course, the wines are excellent. For a meal with a glass of wine and a shared bottled of water, we paid less than 9 euros.

We really enjoyed stumbling across this great place (and then stumbling out a bottle of wine later!!). The service was fabulous, the food was delicious and the wine was exceptional! Thank you so much.

Une ambiance chaleureuse, très agréable en cette période hivernale, une cuisine traditionnelle de haute qualité, un service rapide et sympathique. Une adresse incontournable à Vals !!!

Déjà venu deux fois et vraiment pas déçu, le service est très rapide. En plus, les plats du jour et les plats à la carte sont vraiment excellents! Je recommande!!
