Three of us dined here last evening. After sharing an appetizer of smoked mackerel rillettes that had great flavour, we all had the daily fish special-Halibut. The fish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented on a bed of puréed parsnip with a lemongrass sauce and...Brussels sprout leaves. Dessert was a chocolate creation called “Echo” that was outstanding. Our server was pleasant and efficient. He helped us select a nice bottle from an extensive list of Chablis. The food was excellent- we watched as the chef-owner personally checked each dish coming from the kitchen.
Le Filet has a reputation as a quality restaurant and really lived up to it. The staff were welcoming, friendly and super attentive. The appetizers were more interesting than the rather conventional main dishes, but the food was presented nicely and delicious. I liked how my friend mentioned to our server that it was my birthday but we were thinking of having a liquid dessert instead of pastry, and the server soon brought out 3 bday shots of Amaro, for both of us and him! We all drank to my health. We had a great time :
We were visiting Montreal and our hotel concierge suggested Le Filet. We had a wonderful dinner. We were made to feel very welcome. The service was outstanding and every dish we ordered was very, very good. We followed the advice of our server and shared...dishes. Excellent wine list. We really enjoyed the restaurant and never felt rushed to leave after our meal.
